Why eggs are good for you

Eating eggs can make you kinder

 

Just thought I’d share something I read recently…hope its of interest to you.

Have you heard of serotonin? Well for those that haven’t it’s a happy hormone and eating eggs activates it. Serotonin helps maintain mood balance and our sense of happiness and as some researchers discovered it’s also associated with social behaviour…acts of generosity and kindness.

These researchers also knew that an amino acid, called tryptophan, found in whole eggs, poultry, beans, oats, fish, cheese, tofu, seeds, and nuts…converts into serotonin in the body. The interesting thing they discovered was if we eat foods full of tryptophan it can increase our willingness to give.

So with this knowledge they put this to the test…they took 32 healthy students and gave half the group a placebo and the other half the equivalent tryptophan of 3 eggs. Each student was given $15 for participating in the study and were asked if they would like to leave any of their earnings to charity. Those that had the eggs donated on average double the amount of the placebo participants.

Interesting what scientist research aye…have you had your eggs today lol.

      1. has anyone else neoictd that even though low-carb diets (i.e. eating good carbs in fruits and veggies, etc.) are what really show results, the bottom of the food pyramid is all carbs (i.e. 6-11 servings PER DAY of it)? that’s why i don’t listen to mainstream sources anymore.

          Thanks for visiting my website. Yeah there are lots of different ways to lose weight. I guess the bottom line is, if you burn more calories than you consume, you will lose the weight. Whats more important is you don’t need to spend lots of money to lose it either. A good balanced diet and exercise is all you need.

            Thanks for leaving your comments…I’m pleased Kinovelax worked for you, there are so many diet programs out there but at the end of the day you have to be committed to sticking to a plan…one does not have to paid lots of money to lose weight. Choosing the right foods and exercise is the key…burn more calories than you consume and you will success.

  3. Welcome to the world of nutrition. The foods pooertmd have nothing to do with health and well being. Read any health advice book by gov , dieticians etc and you will find lovely propagandistic remarks such as grains are essential part of diet . based on no science at all.All for money
